Why Calculate Thermal Bridges?


In the UK & Ireland calculating PSI values will result in a more accurate SAP/DEAP rating and can mean the difference between a pass and a fail. Thermal bridging can account for up to 30% of a total buildings heat loss so its massively important to get accurate thermal bridge calculations.

Linear thermal bridging occurs around structural openings, junctions, or at any point where there is a change in the thermal resistance of the building envelope. The result is increased heat loss, quantifiable through thermal bridge calculations, leading to reduced surface temperatures and potential issues with interstitial condensation and mould that WUFI modelling is used to identify and prevent.
